Blog The chipsets related to the Pentium 3 didn't get universal support from Linux hardware-driver programmers back when the P3 was the pinnacle of x86 silicon. So the video that's running is 800x600 16 bit color @56 fps, under the generic Xserver driver.

P3 Xubuntu
Blog There is a render issue with the desktop and it might be a compatibility issue with the X driver. I have run Xubuntu at work in VMWare Workstation and it looks and works well so the issue might be the driver.

Ubuntu 9.04 and the Desktop
Blog The video driver seems to be absolutely excellent on this system. Installed U 9.04 on my P3 COMPAQ Enpro little mini-desktop.I've always wished for more resolution and cleaner video out of it. Finally wish fulfilled!
