Blog Comment I think the "US-VISIT" is a joke and a waste of time - and the Immigration Officers (from what I experienced at least) have little courtesy to boot. I agree. Don't worry, I also have no plans to ever visit the States again.

Talkback I thought they maintained the immigration figures were much smaller than 1 million a year, but I suppose it helps the budget to show an income of between £300m and £600m per year entirely due to ID cards.

Talkback Thats not the only problem. If you decided to take a career break, go off to study or made redundant employers just look at you in a negative light. The attitude from employers seems to be you havent programmed recently so bye bye.

Talkback Rather than open our borders to outsiders it would be better if the IT industry looked to those it "let go" as being too old at 40. Ageism is endemic in the IT industry. If you're over 40 you're too old to know anything.

Talkback For some companies this is a problem, For the UK as a whole the issue is that we are still not producing young people with adequate (Both in depth and bredth) technical skils, This affects many industries, not just IT.
