Knoppix slims down Linux Live CD
News The Knoppix project will start releasing two editions of its Linux Live CD from next summer. But Knoppix developer Klaus Knopper says that users will soon be able to choose between a fully featured version and a slimmed-down version of the CD.

Talkback I've tried to keep a BitTorrent session for Knoppix up all the time, as my small way to help out. Great idea! A relatively simple CD, and a massive DVD, instead of trying to pack "everything" into a CD and having to make hard choices.

Talkback Run a "knoppix" livecd as your OS. You missed the most effective trick. There are disadvantages, but it is nearly 100% foolproof, and even if compromised (theoretically possible) it starts clean with a reboot.

Talkback You could even try booting off a "live" Linux CD (such as Knoppix) to test the viability of this plan before actually installing anything. Rather than junk perfectly good PCs, why not simply install Linux on them instead?

Desktop Linux for small business
Talkback I've run Mepis, Xandros,Yoper,Ubuntu(both Warty and Breezy),DSL,Feather,Puppy,Knoppix. I've looked at just about every free Linux distribution that there is. I could go on,but WHY? For my machine and for my needs,KANOTIX is the best I've seen.

Millions in India to get OpenOffice
