HP Mini 2140 - Strongly Recommended!
Blog The HP Mini 2140 that I had ordered and configured for my friend has come and gone, delivered to her last Friday evening. As far as I can tell, the packaging of the HP 2140 is identical to that of my HP 2133 Mini-Note.

HP Mini 2140 - I Get To Try One!
Blog I have been wanting to get my hands on an HP Mini 2140 netbook ever since I read the first announcement for it. I already own an HP 2133 Mini-Note (wouldn't it be nice if they would be more consistent about naming/numbering similar models?

HP Mini 2140 review
Reviews Now that the plastic-clad, Atom-powered, consumer-orientated Mini 1000 has become a hit, HP's business side is taking another crack at the netbook market with the radically updated HP Mini 2140, which costs from £359 (ex.

Hewlett Packard Mini 2140 Notebook PC
Blog Hewlett Packard's Mini 2140 is one. The Mini 2140 isn't a featherweight at 1.1kg. As I write the HP Mini 2140 is listed at the HP Web site as costing £389 ex VAT. Netbooks are primarily the domain of the consumer world, but there are a couple...

The Windows Premium and the Vista Premium
Blog I have been looking at the new HP Mini 2140 netbooks on sale here in Switzerland. The Vista systems I could find were all Vista Business + XP Professional "downgrade" - I strongly suspect this is because HP and/or their distributors know perfectly...

Ubuntu Netbook Remix "Acid Test" - Wrap-Up
Blog The second test case was an HP Mini 2140, which I would consider a "current" netbook, although no longer "leading edge". The Mini 2140 came with SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10, which while not quite as bad, is also rather dated.jw 8/7/2009

The Right Mouse for the Job
Blog With the HP Mini 2140 netbook that I just delivered to another friend (more on that soon), the situation was a little different. Last, but certainly not least, my own HP 2133 Mini-Note. It seems to me that the computer mouse is often almost an...

Solid State Drives and Data Loss
Blog I was just looking at an announcement of the HP Mini 2140 netbook, and came across this gem: Oh, and I am mildly saddened to see the note about "Windows only"; my HP 2133 Mini-Note also has the DriveGuard with windows, and I had just though last...

Convincing the World, One Computer and One User at a Time
Blog A few weeks ago I wrote about setting up a good friend with an HP Mini 2140 running Ubuntu Netbook Remix. No sweat, I have prepared one of the HP 2133 Mini-Notes with Ubuntu, and all the email and communication software he might want to use on it.

Ubuntu Netbook Remix - Have You Seen it Lately?
Blog Comment In fact, I'm likely to find out pretty soon, because when I set up the HP Mini 2140 for one of my friends, there was a problem with the linux kernel getting confused by the Atom CPU, and I had to disable something in the BIOS setup.

Acer Aspire One D150 review
Reviews With the basic Intel Atom/1GB RAM/XP setup, you'll get a similar experience to using a netbook such as the HP Mini 1000 or Lenovo S10, but there are a handful of trade-offs for the Aspire One D150's price.

Netbook market? What netbook market?
Blog Comment My HP 2133 Mini-Note is an example of a really good keyboard, and in its successor, the HP 2140, they increased the screen size from 8.9" to 10.1" without changing the basic package. I certainly agree about the "creeping featurism" of what the...

HP Pavillion dv2-1010ez Entertainment Notebook
Blog I was particularly interested in the Neo CPU and Radeon graphics; the 12.1" 1280x800 display seems wonderful after working with 1024x600 netbooks; both network adapters are a bit on the weak side (I would prefer Gigabit wired and Wireless-N); the...

ASUS N10J - Netbook or Notebook?
