Norton AntiVirus: The Readers Strike Back

Talkback As long as there are generous rebate offers for NIS and the other Norton products there seems no reason to renwe on line and have the various problems cited by that process. I just bought NIS 2004 at Costco for 54.99 with a $15 rebate plus $30...

Norton AntiVirus: The Readers Strike Back

Norton AntiVirus: The Readers Strike Back

Talkback I had no reason to be unhappy with Norton's 2003 anti-virus until one day, out of the blue, I booted up and found no Norton icon in the tray.manually opening it, I discovered that the auto-protect and email scanning features were un-checked.

Norton AntiVirus: The Readers Strike Back

Talkback I am not an employee of Norton, not even employed due to my chronic illness. I would not use any other AV software. I currently use NAV 2003 and I have read in several reviews that apart from a few tweaks there is little difference between 2003...

Norton AntiVirus: The Readers Strike Back

Talkback I am not as big a Norton fan as I used to be, but I got this phone number from their support website without too much trouble, doh. I am considering switching to ZoneAlarm - but only because of the famous Norton system slowdowns.

Norton AntiVirus: The Readers Strike Back

Talkback As someone who gets called out to small businesses to solve IT problems I keep at least one copy of NAV in the car in case the customer has not got any anti-virus software. Having used it for many years, and been fixing computers for longer, I...

Why You Should Ditch Norton AntiVirus

Talkback You just seem to be pimping your lame software. Are you insane? Symantec and McAfee run by the same company? Please. Symantec and McAfee may seem to be "resting" as you say, but if you understood the business behind either of those companies, you...

Why You Should Ditch Norton AntiVirus

Talkback Although Norton Anti Virus could apparently be installed, any attempt to run it resulted in the application hanging. Never mind I though, I'll run my Norton Anti Virus from the CD. By now it surely would be expected that Norton would expect a...

Does Anybody Like Norton AntiVirus?

Talkback One should be more specific when trying to compare different software. Anyway, the fact that this article exists says that NAV is completely successful and useful piece of software! Mr. Kotadia is really incompetent person.

Does Anybody Like Norton AntiVirus?

Talkback If the product 'Norton Internet Security' stinks, (and a simple search indicates that, for many users, it does) then their technical support is a total cesspit. Oh, and the good news is that reading of other folks problems when they have attempted...

Why You Should Ditch Norton AntiVirus

Talkback I think Symantec has everyone beat on the definition files, but the software is slow and a process hog. Windows XP has a built in firewall and software firewalls are not a solution anyway. I'd have to agree with a number of posts about AVG as the...

Why You Should Ditch Norton AntiVirus

Does Anybody Like Norton AntiVirus?

Talkback I've had no problems what-so ever with Norton. It is quite true that some "script kiddie" could figure out how mess with norton. However, I don't only use norton's. I use about 3 other programs as backups in case norton DOES get infected.

Why You Should Ditch Norton AntiVirus

Talkback The signature updates are free for as long as you want after buying the product and if required, you can take out an update policy for the software at low cost for 1-3 years. You only seem to review toys and not proper solutions!

Why You Should Ditch Norton AntiVirus

Talkback Also, it detects virues the big guys like Norton and Mcafee can't. I recommend Solo Antivirus, especially if you're on dialup or have an older pc. It doen't seem to be as popular as other av software though.
