What Do We Expect from Netbooks?
Blog Comment I have no experience with other netbooks but the distribution Intel Moblin http://moblin.org/ sounds very promising and only works on Intel hardware. Thank you very much for all your postings on your mini-note experiences.

Excellent Information
Talkback I had been very curious about Moblin, and you saved me from strugging to load it on my HP Mini-Note. It seems to me that there is an interesting diversion between Moblin and Ubuntu Netbook Remix in the way that they perceive the user.

Moblin on the Nettop - First Steps
Blog I've wanted to look at moblin for quite some time, but had held back because my HP Mini-Note netbooks have VIA cpu and graphic chips, and I've heard that they can be difficult with moblin (and I saw for myself that they are difficult with the...

Fedora 12 Alpha and The Moblin User Experience
Blog As I was reading the Release Notes, I saw a mention of installing the "Moblin User Experience" on Fedora 12. That's a bit surprising, because I haven't been able to get the last few Beta releases of Moblin itself to install and run properly on any...

Using Xfce for a Netbook Desktop
Blog As I have said before, I think the Ubuntu Netbook Remix (which is based on the Gnome desktop) is good for casual users, but I think it is a bit tedious for experienced users, and I find the Moblin desktop to be mostly inscrutable.

Fair is Fair - Ubuntu Netbook Remix
Blog Ok, so I realized that if I'm going to be fair about this, in addition to trying Moblin on the nettop, I really should try the Ubuntu Netbook Remix (UNR). Moblin drives me crazy, because I can't find any of the things that I am used to working with...

Novell’s Mono Tools tunes up for stereophonic Linux, UNIX & OS X
Blog Amidst news of job cuts, support for Moblin 2.1 and its enterprise collaboration platform called Pulse, Novell’s new Mono Tools add-in module for Microsoft Visual Studio seems to have slipped comparatively under the radar.

Fedora 11
Blog Although I have been mostly occupied with UNR and Moblin for the past week or two, I have managed to take a little time to look at the new Fedora release. I wasn't able to install it at all on my HP 2133 Mini-Note systems.

Fedora development 'worth $10.8bn'
News This year has seen an incredible proliferation of Linux-powered devices outside of traditional Linux strongholds: devices powered by the Moblin platform, netbooks like the Eee PC, mobile phones like the [G1 Android phone], and consumer devices...

HP Mini 2140 - I Get To Try One!
Blog On the negative side, having seen and worked with UNR and Moblin for a while now, I wouldn't want to give this netbook to someone with the bare-bones SLED 10 distribution! I already own an HP 2133 Mini-Note (wouldn't it be nice if they would be...
