PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I was genuinely pleased with my Palm PDA - Sony Clie - but agree that having paid for applications to bring it up to required standard I'm not sure your comparisons are fair. Palm is v good but depends perhaps too much on 3rd party applications.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback PALM OS does not really allow to carry and sort many documents. Windows Explorer makes Windows Mobile the winner if you need to carry documents. RESCO EXPLORER is a fantastic explorer for Pocket PCs. It is rather messy.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I used the Palm OS for six years and loved it. I now have a Dell Axim with Window Mobile 2003 and love it even more. Since my company is standardized on Windows XP and Office 2003, the new Axim meets and exceeds all my needs.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback In using both the pocket PC and Palm for a long time, for my main stay is the Palm. It will work with more mail / contact systems, works with Microsoft seamlessly, and has a whole bucket full of addon applications ready to work.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I have used to both the Pocket PC and Palm systems, albeit only Pocket PC 2002 in an Ipaq. I am currently using the Tungsten T and I find the Palm OS less cumbersome to use than the Pocket PC. It also seems faster to open files with Palm as...

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback What about the fact that Palm is not yet fully a multitaksing OS - ver.is but where we will see it on a real hardware? Palm is like DOS while Windows CE looks much like a full scaled OS. With Palm you need tricks to make something work in the...

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback Nice try to award Palm OS 5 as the winner! Lets hear more from Palm/WM2003 owners to post here but do not argue the way APPLE/Windows users always been! I disagreed as Im the proud owner of IPAQ units for a long time.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback Given a choice, I will opt for Palm just simply I resent MS dominance and arrogance! I am actually shopping for a smartphone.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I disagree as well with the direction this article took, to award the prize to Palm. Pocket PCs are inherently beefier, have more memory, and power than a Palm. The only way to beat a PocketPC with a Palm, is to turn a Palm into a PocketPC.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback It would have been an added advantage to the reader if the functionality of Palm would have been compared with Symbian. The PDA market is losing out to smartphones.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback At a time when PDAs are used for more than just handling personal contacts and trivial multimedia, is there a clear choice of platform for accessing mainframe databases over WiFi and getting useful realtime business information?

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I've own Pocket PCs and Palm PDAs (about 20 different models). There are plenty Pocket PCs owners and as many Palm owners happy too. I am coming back to Palm now because with Palm Handheld T, they get closer to Pocket PC multimedia easiness.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback When I bought my first Pocket PC in 1998 it had double the usable screen size of the Palm with its stupid handwriting area that is made to look like part of the screen to fool buyers, and it allowed me to write the way I write instead of having to...

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003
