Steorn cancels free energy demonstration

Blog Comment Maxwell really did tie that baby down tight), Sean and friends were proceeding in a way absolutely characterisable as pseudoscience. I said as much in a phone call with Steorn, and some impassioned shouting later we came to the agreement that I...

Back in the world of infinite free energy...

Blog Comment Was it the one where I checked off the Steorn claims, point by point, against the classic definition of pseudoscience? It's true, I do like marzipan. But I also like Jalapeno peppers. I doubt I'll be consuming either over Orbo.

Steorn's free energy seems curiously expensive

Talkback I do know that they're following the classic pseudoscience path - that's not a matter of conjecture, you can tick off the attributes yourself - and can't really explain why. In answer to the question about how much I get from the nuclear industry...

Steorn cancels free energy demonstration

Blog Comment Steorn is displaying all the signs of classic pseudoscience. I'm sorry, but that doesn't add up. Heat demagnetises magnets above their curie point. I don't know what magnets are in the Orbo, but assuming they're neodymium then they'll have a curie...

Will nobody think of the bees?

Blog The observant will note that both stories exhibit one characteristic of mainstream pseudoscience pseudojournalism. Once upon a time, the Independent was a serious newspaper, taking serious stands on serious issues.
