Talkback I guess the same happened to me. Then I got an SP2 version of Windows XP and guess what? The Windows Update program wanted to download the SP2 again. I canceled the operation and disabled the application!

Talkback Downloaded SP2 and when I went to reboot nothing, tried to reboot using saf mode etc, and still nothing ended up having to reinstall XP Home and then downloaded SP ( no other choice) and it worked but I spend all day installing software and drives

Talkback To the people who have had trouble installing SP2 on their Mesh AMD 64 computers. I had this trouble. Neither Mesh nor Microsoft knew why it was happening and had no solution to offer. My system crashed as soon as I rebooted after installation.

Talkback I also have a mesh amd64 system and after a number of attempts to install sp2 (doing all the suggested edits to the registry etc.all that happened was a total system failure requiring me to spend a day re-installing XP.

Talkback I had SP2 installed and it crashed my whole system, I had to pay lots of money to get my computer back working. The tech told me it was due to SP2 as soon as he took it off my system it started working properly again.

Talkback Mcrosoft still have that arrogant action that they have ALL the answers. Why remove SP2 ? I and so many others have had no problems with it. Why issue it in the first place, if they have NO confidence in their own products.

Talkback Yes I've also got a Mesh Matrix AMD64 system and SP2 will not run on my machine. After SP2 has installed the machine will only start in safe mode and I have to use a pre SP2 restore point to get it running properly again.

Talkback i installed sp2 and it froze my computer up .i couldnt use any programs so it cost me to get it straight.microsoft should pay for thier bad sp2 installs which i was told by the tech thats what caused it!
