Vista Versus The Gutsy Gibbon - Ubuntu 7.10
Blog Comment It can be annoying to uninstall stuff from Ubuntu. I have to agree - I've been really enjoying Ubuntu since i moved over. I loaded a few K-desktop programs in, and other vaguely related stuff was loaded at the same time, and is a pain to uninstall.

Apple Mac OS X On X86: A First Test
Talkback Has anyone tried installing Ubuntu recently? Damn, it's slick (when it recognizes your stuff, granted - but try to get OS X working on a non-standard, non Apple-friendly non TPM-protected whitebox). There's tons of them out there - my favourite is...

Admission And Lesson - Don't Overcomplicate Linux!
Blog Comment I put Ubuntu on an old Thinkpad T22, but the wireless didn't work - and the screen didn't display. There was stuff on the web, but either it didn't work or I couldn't understand how to use it. I always hope things will "just work", and I get lost...

Completing The First Phase Of The MythTV Setup
Blog The DHCP and TFTP stuff has been moved back to (new) boron after fiddling about with some Ubuntu-specific differences with getting TFTP working. Downloading the correct firmware version fixed everything, and the dual-tuners are now working away...

Why I've Moved From Vista To Ubuntu 7.10
Blog Comment So, since I have been playing around with linux distros for a while but never really got the feeling that they would convince me to switch and never look back, I took my laptop to the test and installed ubuntu 7.04 (feisty fawn).

I Will Blog, Despite Vista's Best Efforts
Blog I could easily reboot into Ubuntu, and in fact was abot to so so, but something occurred to me. Until Microsoft truly gets that, I'll be sticking Ubuntu - or XP as a backup if I really need to run Windows.

Vista Versus The Gutsy Gibbon - Ubuntu 7.10

OpenSUSE 11.0 First Impressions
Blog Comment I agree with your comments about Ubuntu being a simple and easy installation. Ubuntu also provides a "live" version of Linux and an "installation" version of Linux on the same CD! To run Ubuntu "live" or install it, you just boot with the Ubuntu CD...

What Ashame :(

Still Don't See The Point ...
Talkback My recent experience with a IBM/Lenovo T60 has shown me that Ubuntu is more broken than Debian. If its eye-candy you want go and download some stuff from kde-look.org or art.gnome.org. The beta of Feisty I ran the other day does look to be an...
