Vario II Goes WinMob 6
Blog A quick heads-up for anyone who, like me, uses a T-Mobile Vario II (aka HTC Hermes). T-mob has finally gotten round to issuing a Windows Mobile 6 update for the handset, which can be found here. I've run it and everything seems to be fine.

Excellent Kit
Member Review I've had my TyTN, masquerading as T-Mobile's Vario II, for just over 2 months now, and I have to say its one of the best devices I've ever used. Portable, powerful, and extremely usable, if you're after a smartphone, then look no further.

Clash Of The TyTNs
Blog I'm very fond of my T-Mobile Vario II pocket PC smartphone thingy, which is also known (branded, whatever) as the HTC TyTN. Well, I think I know what my next handset might be - the TyTN II, available now.

Windows Mobile Ignored Time Change
Blog This is something I noticed yesterday, when my Windows Mobile phone (a T-Mobile Vario II running WinMob 6.0, since you ask) failed to recognise the British Summer Time shift. Now today I see that some other users had the same experience (although...

T-Mobile Launches First HSDPA Phone
News The MDA Vario II runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 and comes with Redmond's push email. The Vario II is, unsurprisingly, the second iteration of the smart phone. T-Mobile is claiming to be the first operator to get an HSDPA — that's 3.5G — phone out of...

Windows Mobile OS
Forum I upgraded my T-Mobile Vario II (the TyTn by any other name) from WInMob 5 to 6, partly because it was supposed to make the power efficiency better. Well you'll probably need to get the update via the original operator, unless it's unlocked in...

Nokia E71 Vs HTC Touch Diamond
Blog My most recent WinMob handset was the T-Mobile MDA Vario II. The E71 is sitting on my desk in front of me - I actually enjoy looking at it, which I can't say for my old Vario II - and I can't recommend it enough.

How Dare They?
Blog That's happened with T-Mobile's MDA Vario II handheld/smartphone, a.k.a the HTC TyTN. You can tell when a review product has made a good impression. After a while, you start hoping that the vendor or the PR has forgotten about it.

The End Of The Subsidised Handset?
Blog Nice idea to be giving those away (it sure made me switch operators when I managed to get my Vario II for next to nothing), but it's clearly a situation that couldn't last forever. Some interesting news regarding 3's upcoming tariff structuring...

XP Never Forced Me To Do That
Blog I can handle having to soft-reset my Vario II every now and again, because I'm used to the Windows Mobile experience, but I shouldn't have to wrench the battery out of a notebook to turn it off. Well, I've installed Vista now, and the hell of...
