S6510/Vista Vs. S2110/XP Professional
Blog Lifebook S6510.Lifebook S2110 But then I immediately logged in on both systems, and the S2110 (XP) was "ready for use" in another 15-20 seconds, while the S6510 (Vista) took another full minute before I could have done anything else.

Ubuntu On Fujitsu Lifebook S6510
Blog Having had so much success with Ubuntu on the older "test" laptop (Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook S2110), and not expecting to want to try Vista on the newer Fujitsu Lifebook S6510 again anytime soon, I decided to try installing Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron...

S6510: XP Faster, More Stable Than Vista
Blog I tried loading on a Fujitsu Lifebook S6120 (Intel Pentium-M 1.6 GHz), and while it would load and boot, it was ridiculously slow, the Aero interface wouldn't run, and there were quite a few devices that I couldn't get Vista drivers for.

Lifebook S6510 - Part 3; Networking, Software And Drivers
Blog I have continued to make good progress in moving to the new Lifebook S6510. This may turn out to be a driver problem on the Lifebook, or firmware in the Linksys router. The Lifebook S6510 seems to be a bit of a special case, just because it is so new.

Status Update, Vista To XP Retreat (Advance?)
Blog It has been two weeks since I switched from Windows Vista back to Windows XP Professional on my Fujitsu Lifebook S6510, and two months since I made the same switch on my Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook S2110.

Thankfully, It Worked For Me
Talkback After what I have been through with Vista on the Lifebook S6510 (and the S2110, for that matter, although not as much), I would have been really unhappy if SP3 had caused problems. I installed XP SP3 on my Lifebook S2110, which has an AMD Turion 64...

Vista SP1 - No Go For Me At The Moment
Blog I had reloaded the Vista disk for my Lifebook S6510 a week or so ago, so that I would have a fresh load ready for update. I have been waiting anxiously for the public release of Vista SP1. On the other hand, considering how unprepared many (most...

Vista - Is It Some Sort Of Drug?
Blog I have known since the Vista disk in my Lifebook S6510 got corrupted and wouldn't boot that I would have to reload it before SP1 comes out. That all went very smoothly, and within an hour or so I was up and running with Vista in exactly the state...

Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) Confusion
Blog Comment I have now installed Vista SP1 on my Lifebook S6510, and it is working very nicely. Like you, I have several of the "questionable" drivers (fingerprint, sound and display), but so far, two days after installation, I have no problems.

Vista Memory Leak?
Blog I've been running Vista Business on my Lifebook S6510 for several weeks now, and overall I'm pleased - at least pleased enough to keep it this time, rather than retreating to XP Pro again. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen anything that looks...

Vista SP1 Installed, Working OK So Far
Blog The installation of Vista SP1 completed normally on my Lifebook S6510, and it seems to be running normally for the time being. However, Vista is still displaying one symptom that I find irritating, which the other two don't have.

Vista SP1 - Now Installed And Running
Blog Ok, in large part due to some good advice from David Long, I now have Vista SP1 installed on my Fujitsu Lifebook S6510, and after two days it is still running with no problems. I believe that I have determined that the problem I had previously...

Microsoft's Pre-modern Message Puts A New Face On Vista
Blog Comment This is not on "older hardware", it is a new Fujitsu Lifebook S6510, purchased last December, nearly a year after Vista was released. Yes, I have tried Vista repeatedly, and documented the success and failures in my blog.

A Few Minor Windows XP Glitches
Blog I've been meaning to mention a couple of odd things I have come across on my Lifebook S6510, so I'd best get it out of the way now. As I expect Vista SP1 to be available soon, and XP SP3 not long after that, I suppose I will be playing "disc jokey...
