Why I've Moved From Vista To Ubuntu 7.10

Blog Comment Everything worked fine from boot, and Ubuntu even automatically set my computer up to dual boot, so I can choose Linux or Windows right after I turn on the machine. Ubuntu also runs faster, looks nicer than the new Vista Aero desktop, and uses FAR...

Triple Boot Ubuntu/Vista/XP - No Go So Far

Blog Ubuntu (Grub) correctly saw that there were two bootable Windows partitions on the disk, and both Vista and Ubuntu booted correctly, but when I tried to boot the XP partition, it actually started to boot Vista but then complained that the boot...

Quad Boot - Friday Update - It's Good!

Blog Ubuntu: This probably wins the "dead easy" install and use award. But having XP there to boot when I absolutely need it for something is certainly nice. After nearly a full week of working with this quad-boot setup in various stages of completion...

Vista SP1 - No Go For Me At The Moment

Blog Comment I plan to update my laptop Vista installation as soon as I get a chance, and then reassess it versus Ubuntu, which does almost everything I need on my Asus V1S laptop except three things: Recognise the built-in webcam, recognise the built-in 3G...
