Dell Video Chat By SightSpeed - Excellent Technically And Commercially
Blog The biggest difference is that the window backgrounds are all black, rather than white, which I suppose gives it a more "elegant" look. Once you have started a video call, the video is displayed in a window within the main SightSpeed/Dell window...

More Success With Mandriva
Blog When I inserted an SD card, it put an "SD Flash" icon on my desktop (reducing the chance that I will forget that the card is in there), mounted it and opened a window on it. I looked around, tried a couple of things, and nothing seemed to be...

Blog If you select audio devices that are different from the "Windows Default" devices, as I do (I always put VoIP audio in/out on my headset, but Windows audio out on a Logitech Audio Hub speaker, and Windows audio input I don't pay much attention to...

SightSpeed - A Closer Look
Blog Much better, and more complete, controls for switching between the full video chat window, video only window, and full-screen video. There is so much more to this - it seemed like the more I looked, the more I found and the better it got.

WiMAX Still Begins With A Why
Blog Mobile WiMAX is a different story - or will be - but then, LTE is firmly in that window too. The imposing man at the Nortel stand looked similarly confused when we asked, but we couldn't tell whether this was because he didn't know either, was only...

Rupert Goodwins' Diary
Blog So many stories: the shoe-throwing contest from the window into the street below. It looked like the front room from The Young Ones, only in worse repair and with a bar at one end. The air was thick with the smoke of a thousand Marlboro Reds; the...

Microsoft To Plug URL-spoofing Hole
Talkback Certainly, who ever is at the wheel must be spending too much time alone, if they had at least looked outside their own Window I doubt they would have taken such a blinded approach. Microsoft's solution is filled with more holes than solid answers...

Vista SP1 Installed, Working OK So Far
Blog Sometimes, in the middle of starting or running a program, it sort of "stops", thrashes around on the disk for a bit, if I try to do anything with the window it adds "Not Responding" to the title bar, and then after anywhere from 15 to 45 seconds...

Freeware Programs - Four Of The Best
News The ad window is quite unobtrusive and actually very easy to ignore. Once a connection is established, WS_FTP LE presents you with an easy-to-use two-pane window: one pane for the local system and one pane for the remote system.

Rupert Goodwins' Diary
Blog There was only one place where the signal was strong and the connection reliable -- perched half-way out of the top story window. That didn't stop me trying to get a sniff of something open -- as long as I never looked down.

You Expect Me To Blog? No, Mr Goodwins, I Expect You To Die...
Blog By way of a flourish, one of the PRs pressed a hidden button and the window overlooking the control centre whited out. A huge polished wood board table surrounded by leather armchairs sits in the middle: we search for the button that'll make a...

Friday: A Sticky Wicket
Blog It turns out Graeme misread a leg cutter and, trying to drive it back over to the bowler's head, hit the pavilion window for six as the bat left his hand and disappeared over square leg. Come Friday and the trudge back in, and it looked as if...

Mono Seeks To Open Up .Net
News They could write in C++, but the schedule would just go out the window, or they could do it in C#, but it would be Windows. So, for example at Novell -- and this was a choice that I really wasn't involved in -- but they looked at the (Mono...
