PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback A PDA *must* be easy to use! A PDA *must* fit into your life, not try to reshape your life to fit it! Windows Mobile For Pocket PC 2003 and it's bundled applications are unusable and confusing, like most of Microsoft's user interfaces.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I don't ever want a PDA that runs a Microsoft OS again! Windows Mobile 2003 is horrible. I owned an IPAQ for a year and it was replaced 3 times!

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I think the article is rather good, no favorites and they pointed the right things on every platform. I mus tsay that this is one of the first unbalanced reviews I have read about PDAs for a long time.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback Not only does this article not compare like with like it has provided incorrect information about the Windows Mobile OS. For example, one of the benefits stated about the Palm was automatic synchronisation of files, using a non-standard app I...

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I was genuinely pleased with my Palm PDA - Sony Clie - but agree that having paid for applications to bring it up to required standard I'm not sure your comparisons are fair. I also agree that the dedicated Grafitti area is a waste of screen space...

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback PALM OS does not really allow to carry and sort many documents. Windows Explorer makes Windows Mobile the winner if you need to carry documents. RESCO EXPLORER is a fantastic explorer for Pocket PCs. It is rather messy.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I recently purchased a PDA. Before doing doing that I read the reviews and went through all the message boards, most people seemed to say that the palm os is superior. The problem with windows is inefficent code

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback Actually, they *did* compare the two fairly accurately. Consider: The Tungsten T5 which I just purchased will come with all the software mentioned - I'll be getting it for about $350 from ecost.com. If you want to consider the models which don't...

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback hmm i'm stuck, i have had my IPAQ 1940 for nearly 3 years.i finally dropped it once too many, now its decision time, either get the Palm TX which seems to have everyhting i want it to do but, uses an OS i'm not familiar with, or go with what i...

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I notice reading previous comments that opinions are more emotional reactions than rational objectivly proven facts (I'm a psychologist, not a PDA specialist). I've own Pocket PCs and Palm PDAs (about 20 different models).

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback If you want a paper weight, or at least to blow some money, there are better items to get than a PalmOS based PDA! The core applicaitons of the Windows CE OS are much better than the corresponding PalmOS applicaitons.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback With Pocket PC you don't need to learn a new OS - it is much like the desktop Windows (without the mess collected on the desktop) - you have file system and strong process control. Palm is like DOS while Windows CE looks much like a full scaled OS.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback So if we compare apples with apples and include vendor specific add-ons, my Casio PDA has a button on the front that brings up a quick launch screen in which I can set up applications, folders - anything on my PDA.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback i think pocket pc is better than palm os ,especially in entertaiment like storage mp3 is more efficent and save alot of place in your memory .Other than that i think pocket pc is much faster than palm os,since i have also palm pda and pocket pc...

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback Given a choice, I will opt for Palm just simply I resent MS dominance and arrogance! I am actually shopping for a smartphone.

[March 4, 2004, 15:25]

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback The PDA market is losing out to smartphones. It would have been an added advantage to the reader if the functionality of Palm would have been compared with Symbian.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback absolutely agree with the article.being a user of pocketPC 2002 and 2003, and Palm5, i must say while the pocketPC often can do more, the palm does what it does better.tungsten C can match almost any pocketPC for power and memory, has the easiest...

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I disagree as well with the direction this article took, to award the prize to Palm. I am the proud owner of 3 generations of Ipaq and I've never had a complaint. Pocket PCs are inherently beefier, have more memory, and power than a Palm.

PDA Prizefight: Palm OS 5 V Windows Mobile 2003

Talkback I used the Palm OS for six years and loved it. I now have a Dell Axim with Window Mobile 2003 and love it even more. Since my company is standardized on Windows XP and Office 2003, the new Axim meets and exceeds all my needs.
