2008-01-06 Vista Is A Downgrade.
Talkback Don't *need* another newer version of Windows, such as Vista. But with Vista? The title bar of every window now looks 1.5 times the height that it was under XP and I can't change it. for some unexplicable reason so that if you need to go back there...

Talkback New Intel Apple macs (iBook, Powerbooks, iMacs, Mac minis etc.need* to support dual boot to Windows XP/Vista. Yeah, that would explain why Windows Vista Beta 1 picked up my Soundblaster 16 on the ISA slot (I have a ISA bridge because it's a new...

We Are Being Force-fed Vista
Talkback Its been a year since manufacturers stopped shipping brand new computers with Windows XP pre-installed, am not sure whether this is forced onto them by Microsoft but had they made it optional for consumers to choose between Vista and XP upon...

Rupert Goodwins' Diary
Blog Of course, I'd love to give Windows XP (and, one presumes, Vista) a fair crack of the whip, but that's illegal. Do I say "new hardware and XP", which even though you can get a decent box for £400 these days seems a lot for just webbery, emails and...
