News Interestingly, even though XP will be five years old by the time Vista ships (currently scheduled for the end of this year) the questions posted by many readers indicated that they need to be convinced that Vista will be a necessary upgrade.

Blog Comment Yes the deal we have allows us to "downgrade" to XP BUT we have to BUY Vista Business to do it. My guess is that if somebody goes and asks DELL what the ratio of XP to Vista sales are, you won't get an answer since I'm sure Microsoft has shut them up.

Do We Need A Campaign To Save XP?
Blog Moving people on, is obviously in Microsoft's interest, as more new PCs, mean more profits (though we've seen elsewhere that in many circumstances, the familiar and trusted XP commands a higher price than most versions of Vista).
