Pricing Scuppers Media Player-free XP

Talkback Since practically all the most popular films are American, plus practically all major web news sites and portals like Yahoo, Msnbc, Fox news et al are using WMP exlusively, how exactly does the EU propose to stop WMP from dominating?

Microsoft: DRM Trojan Hole Is Not A Vulnerability

Talkback How often do regular users need to access licences for music, when I used WMP I did it nearly everyday. Whenever a flaw is found then Microsoft either wait ages before admitting it or deny it. Seems like they're burying their heads in the sand yet...

High Noon For Microsoft In EU Battle

Talkback To the chap who said WMP is free - why do you think it is free? Blimey, it's a bit 'Microsoft stooges of the world unite' around here isn't it. Or IE is free? Or Outlook Express? It's because the competition was there in the first place and the...

South Korea Orders Microsoft To Unbundle Windows

Talkback However, Microsoft do not simply bundle IE/Messenger/WMP with Windows. They 'integrate' it so tightly in to the operating system that any OEM that dares to remove a Microsoft app risks breaking the operating system and 1000s of support calls.

Microsoft Awaits Punitive EU Judgment

Talkback If you don't like WMP, run Real Player or QuickTime. I would second the other point that WMP is actually not a bad media player and that this also may have had some effect in its market share as well as the bundling with os

Top Ten Things Wrong With Zune

High Noon For Microsoft In EU Battle

Talkback I’m not a Microsoft fan but by far WMP 10 is the best media player out of its rivals. And anyway WMP is free so why would you want to buy RealPlayer to get almost similar features of WMP. At least with WMP 10 you get a full equaliser for free.

Pricing Scuppers Media Player-free XP

Talkback The Bush Administration did NOT force PC makers to put Linux on their severs, nor did they force Microsoft to take out WMP nor did they dictate what should and shouldn't go into software design like the EU is doing.
